DESCRIPTION OF CLASS:
Explore both machine and hand-sewing in this hybrid Monday class at Ciclo Sewing Lab. Students learn essential hand stitches, proper tool use, threading, knotting, and basic mending while building confidence on the sewing machine. Each student works on a project matched to their skill level—from simple hand-sewn items to more advanced machine projects. Beginners start with foundational stitches, while returning students take on more complex techniques and personalized goals.
This class supports creativity, skill-building, and sustainable fashion practices. Students leave with completed projects and the confidence to continue sewing independently. Perfect For beginners, experienced sewists, makers wanting both hand and machine skills and anyone interested in slow fashion, upcycling, or building sewing confidence.
TUESDAYS - Absolute Beginner for the youngest "sewists".

DESCRIPTION OF CLASS:
This class is designed for the youngest “sewists,” ages 6 and up, who are excited to learn how to operate a sewing machine and create fun projects—from simple accessories to finished garments! Students are guided step-by-step through beginner-friendly techniques, building confidence as they sew.
We focus on creativity and sustainability by working with pre-loved clothing and discarded textiles, teaching kids to transform materials into something new and unique. Along the way, students learn safety, basic machine skills, fabric handling, and the joy of making.
All materials are included, and each child works on age-appropriate projects that spark imagination and foster mindful, hands-on learning.
TUESDAYS - Garment Deconstruction to upcycle sewing class
Pre-requisite: NON
Ages: 13 -17 years old
Cost: -Whole semester (14 dates): $630 (Fees included).
Schedule: 4:30pm-6pm
DATES: FULL Semester starting on January 20th through May 12th, 2025. (NO CLASS ON 2/17, 3/31 & 4/14)
DESCRIPTION OF CLASS:
During this sewing and fashion class students will be introduce to the Art of Garment deconstruction to then be able to create a full up-and refashion a collection by learning how to maximize the use of these textiles. During this semester’s intensive program, students will have up-cycled between 1-5 items, depending on skill level and difficulty of the project (can include garment, hats, jewerly, shoes).
We work with pre-loved clothes and discarded textiles.
Students must bring 4 to 10 pieces of old/discarded garment in adult size (denim jeans, denim jacket, denim shirt, men bottom up shirts, etc) to use during the class. We will have some of these materials available at the class as well. All other sewing materials and sewing machines are included for this class.
WEDNESDAYS - HAND SEWING CLASS

Ages: 5 - 9
Cost: -Whole semester (13 dates): $ 560 (Fees included).

Recommended: Take our Intro to Hand Sewing workshop on January 24th.
No experience required.
Perfect for little makers who love to create! In this fun, hands-on class, kids will learn the basics of hand sewing — from threading a needle and tying knots to mastering simple stitches like the running stitch, whip stitch, and blanket stitch. Students will sew buttons, make small creative projects, and discover how to transform fabric scraps into something magical.
Each child will take home their own handmade creations along with a “sewing sampler” that showcases the stitches and skills they learned. All they need to bring is their imagination!

If you've never used a sewing machine, or you have some knowledge in machine sewing, then this is the class for you! This is a pre-requisite for all other classes on machine sewing. These skills lay a strong foundation for you to build on with future sewing projects. In this class, you will complete 1 to 4 projects.
Even though this class is promoted for beginners, it welcomes all levels and skills. All materials are included for this class.Students are welcome to donate pre-loved clothes in adults sizes.
