I’m Robertha “Roby” Hernandez, originally from Chile, where I earned a degree in Fashion Design and Pattern Making and spent over ten years as managing director and designer of my family’s clothing business, Jai Level. After immigrating to the United States, I’ve focused on creating businesses that serve families through education.
In 2020 I founded Ciclo Sustainable Fashion to bring together my interests in education, sustainability, and design. Ciclo Sewing Lab is a small learning hub where young people and families explore clothing creation—from materials to finished pieces—while practicing sewing, textile recycling, and upcycling. My main interest is teaching the value of garments: how they’re made, why they matter, and how thoughtful choices can reduce waste.
You’re welcome to join a class, camp, or workshop to learn practical skills and explore creative, sustainable design. I’m a fortunate mother of two girls who sometimes attend our sessions, so you may see them around.
Warmly, Roby
