I am Robertha Hernandez, originally from Chile - where I received a degree in Fashion Design and Pattern Making and where I worked for over ten years in my family’s clothing business ‘Jai Level’ - as both managing director and designer. Since immigrating to the United States, fourteen years ago, my work has involved the creation of businesses that provide services to families with children primarily through education.
I have wanted to return to my roots in clothing and fashion design and in 2020 I founded Ciclo Sustainable Fashion which brings together my passion for education, sustainability and creative design. I see Ciclo SF as a learning hub, working with young people and their families in understanding clothing creation from source to clothing brand - all through the lens of sustainability.
I invite you to join one of our classes, camps and workshops at Ciclo Sewing Lab and learn sewing machine skill while we are recycling and reusing textiles, up-cycling and explore your creativity while creating new designs while we explore the world of Fashion in a sustainable way.
I am a lucky mother of two girls who also take advantage of my sewing classes so you might meet them sometimes during our classes and camps.
Warmest regards,
Roby
